Bella Dogga's Alfresco Dog Bed is constructed of 100% organic cotton denim printed with low-impact dyes from Harmony Art. This extra-sturdy pale blue fabric features small white dots, darker blue scrolls and sweet words like, "a daisy reminds, huckleberries know, voices lead but only the heart follows." It is accented with coordinating khaki piping and, as always, generously stuffed with organic kapok.

Cover is zippered for easy removal and laundering-- just machine wash in the gentle cycle with organic soap and then air dry. The kapok insert should not require washing. Kapok is water repellent, does not absorb odors and is naturally resistant to mold. The insert can be refreshed by placing it outside in the sun or in the dryer on a cool setting with a few clean tennis balls.

What the heck is kapok?

Never heard of kapok? Well, you've been missing out! The "cotton" of the Kapok Tree is a sustainable rainforest crop that comes from the renewable source of its seeds. It provides a super-soft, down-like feel and a nontoxic, chemical free environmentally-friendly alternative to commonly used fiberfill. Hygienic, hypoallergenic, odorless and breathable, it is said that sleeping on kapok brings good luck and sweet dreams.
